Kidulthood star Adam Deacon has been arrested after failing to appear in court to answer a harassment charge.

The 31-year-old was due at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court, in west London, on Monday accused of harassing fellow star Noel Clarke.

He did not turn up, leading to an arrest warrant being issued. On Tuesday he was reportedly taken into custody.

Deacon is accused of posting abusive and threatening messages on social media relating to the Adulthood director.

The actor, who won a Bafta rising star award in 2012 for directing urban comedy Anuvahood, was due before magistrates at 10.45am, but when he had failed to appear an hour later, the warrant was issued.
