AJ Tracey released the first song from his new EP Lil Tracey called Buster Cannon 2 days ago creating a huge wave within the scene. The video has already reached 181,650 views the video was posted on his personal You Tube channel, this is phenomenal as some larger music orientated channels are unable to accumulate this amount of views on a video within a week. The visuals for the video were filmed in Japan which showcases how far his content reaches which only emphasises his talent. The fact he is able to engage fans from countries that don’t even speak his language is an exceptional accomplishment, as this means he is allowing grime as a genre to reach a wider audience which should be every artists aim as this would increase the appreciation for their craft.

If the Vibe from Buster Cannon is anything to go by AJ’s EP is going to be monumental, the combination of quality instrumentals and AJ’s excellent word play is a lethal pairing. AJ Tracey’s combination of real life topics and comical word play is exceptional, which is anchored by his constantly growing fan base that constantly shows their appreciation for his content. He has never changed his content in order to appeal to the mass market; he takes pride in his work which I believe everyone can see. This is one of his key selling points as a variety of artists who receive recognition within the Grime scene have gone onto adapt and change their content in order to appeal to the larger audience within the Pop genre, whereas AJ Tracey creates content he enjoys rather than focusing solely on financial gain. By doing so he is reaping the rewards, touring a variety of locations such as Japan, France, UK and the USA.

His talent has been quite apparent for some time with a variety of videos hitting millions of views such as his Link up TV freestyle Packages hitting 2.1 million views, his collaboration with Santan Dave for the song Thiago Silva released five months ago has also reached 2.1 million views which is an exceptional accomplishment on its own. However the video was posted to Santan Dave’s personal YouTube channel, which has a significantly lower following than Link UP TV yet due to both artists talent it still, accumulated such a high amount of views.

AJ has recently collaborated with A$AP Rocky, Lil B and Clams Casino on the remix of the song Be Somebody. This showcases his versatility as he is able to spit on both Rap and Grime flows, this sets him apart from a large amount of artists as he is confident enough experiment with his craft in order to provide versatile content for his fans.

I believe AJ Tracey is only going to get better, he is constantly developing his craft creating a range of high quality content, as well as touring countries helping Grime reach more countries allowing the genre to receive the recognition it deserves.
