Sian Andersons iconic contribution to the Music Scene.

Sian Anderson is one of my favorite DJ’s on Radio 1Xtra providing her audience with a variety of top quality music, as well as numerous exclusive freestyles from some of the scenes most desired artists such as Jaykae and Potter Payper. Her show is on every Wednesday 10PM – 1AM. Her love for the music within the Rap and Grime scene is obvious, her reactions are genuine significantly appeals to me personally as I am able to relate to her reactions due to the fact the music has a similar effect on me.

As well as being an iconic DJ on of the scenes most respected platforms ,she is involved in a variety of other projects such as running her own PR and marketing company called SighTracked which has created a variety of campaigns for various well renowned brands such as Channel 4. The company has also provided a variety of services for artists such as Ed Sheeran; this anchors the significance of this company as Ed’s success within the music scene is undeniable. One of the company’s aims is to support and develop future talent, which they do constantly via the creation of SighTracked Records which was created in 2014. The company is helping the underground scene reach the mass market, which is an exceptional accomplishment due to the fact the underground scene is constantly overlooked due to the false connotations associated with the genres.

Sian also works at Atlantic records as a Marketing manager for a wide variety of artists all over the world; this anchors my previous point that her love for music is obvious. She doesn’t just stick to one specific area of the music scene, she branches out trying and succeeding in creating a name for herself within a variety of different sectors within the scene.

As she stated in her interview on Huffington post when asked “What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?” she stated “Turning a job I love doing into an actual company” she is referring to her own company SighTracked. This proves to anyone that doubts her love for the music scene wrong as she created her own company which is an exceptional accomplishment itself without taking into account she did this for the love of it rather than the thought of financial gain.

As well as all her other exceptional accomplishments within the music scene she also writes for a widely renowned media company by the name of “The Fader” where she discusses a variety of different topics within the Grime and Rap scene such as “9 ways Giggs paved the way for U.K Rap Today” and “These are the 11 producers behind your favorite grime tunes right now.” Due to the huge following the Fader have Sian Anderson is helping the scene reach a significantly larger audience, which should be the aim for anyone involved within the scene as we all want the music we listen to, to be heard and admired by as many people as possible as the artists deserve recognition for the immense talent they possess.

Personally I would like to thank Sian for the enigmatic effect she has on the scene as well as providing me with quality music whilst I write articles, after researching Sian she has motivated me to follow my dreams/aspirations and hopefully one day I will be able to meet her and discuss the music scene.
