November has been a mad month for the scene, an exuberant amount of top quality music has been released this month. So I decided to round off the month with my top five tracks/ freestyles of the month.
First up is AJ Tracey’s new track pasta which was released on the 29th of November, on his personal YouTube channel accumulating 631,608 in just over a week. The combination of an American vibe instrumental and his raw London accent created a masterpiece, even though the years ending AJ keeps setting a new standard surpassing the exceptional standard he set with his previous track or freestyle.
The next track on my list is corn by Cadet and Big Tobz, after the freestyle clip posted by Big Tobz reached 11.6 thousand retweets. Neither of the artists could ignore the huge impact the freestyle had on social media, so they had to ensure that the full track lived up to the expectations from the clip which is exactly what they did great lyrics, contagious vibe and a great instrumental choice produced by both Wonda and Tryp.
The third track I believe that stands out from November is the Big Zuu and Dave cover of Ghetto Kyote on SBTV which was released on the 25TH of November. We already knew Dave was a talented pianist; however the combination with Big Zuu only anchored how talented he is. Big Zuu provided us with hard hitting relatable lyrics, mentioning a variety of topics that we can all relate to such as trying to provide for your family and learning from past mistakes. In two weeks the video posted on SBTV accumulated 122,613 views which is an astounding amount especially when you take into account how young these artists are.
The fourth track on my list is Potter Payper’s track T-Rappy, which was released on the 6TH of November on Pressplay Media accumulating 45,726. The combination of a top quality trap instrumental and Potter’s real lyrics and Essex slang, created a vibe I drive to and I guarantee many of you have too. The vibe of the track is infectious and contrasts to tracks such as Purple Rain and conversations with a fiend which concentrate on hard hitting lyrics that take you a few times to fully understand. It’s great to see a wide range of content provided by Potter as his talent is undeniable, now he has a wider range of content allowing him to reach a wider audience.
The finally track is Stacks C’s BlackBox freestyle as I mentioned in the review of his first ITunes track King and Queen, I wanted to hear him spit on more Grime instrumentals and I’m so happy he did. He sounds comfortable at 140 BPM, I believe Grime is where Stacks belongs the vibe he creates is insane. The video itself has received 1,603 views in 12 days, which isn’t anywhere close to the views of the other videos mentioned however that’s not what it’s about, his talent is quite apparent so I believed he deserved recognition.
